O que é mais ‘fera’ de tudo isso, Pedrão, é que, hoje, a IBM vende apenas “mainframes” rodando esse processador POWER: o truque é instalar “Virtual machines” pro Sistema Operacional que vc bem entender… aliás, eles vendem até emuladores de hardware, sobre os quais vc pode instalar o OS que bem entender!
Ou seja, o processador a ser ‘batido’ é o POWER (6, 7)… o resto… is stamp collection. 😉

Peraí, deixa eu ver se entendi: essa CPU POWER 6 é a Cell ou a Cell bate a POWER 6?
Preciso agora pôr um Linux no meu PS3 60GB… 😈

O Power 6 ou 7, são CPUs absurdamente ignorantes… o Cell é a “cheap version” pro PS3. 😉

Eu concordo… mas, vou dizer, tem gente que não precisa disso pra ser reconhecida… e, certamente, o caso do Gel’fand é um desses.
É uma pena mesmo, mas ele não vai perder a importância que teve… pelo contrário.
